Founding Full-Stack Engineer

We’re at a pivotal stage. The product is live, early users are engaged, and we’ve validated product-market fit across real estate, home services, and SaaS layers. Now we’re looking for a Founding Full Stack Engineer who can help scale the platform, bring key modules to life, and ensure our systems are robust, performant, and ready for growth.

This is an opportunity to join a small, senior founding team with deep experience in building brands, products, and companies. We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply about both user experience and technical excellence.

• Collaborate directly with the founding team on product architecture, roadmap, and strategic priorities
• Own end-to-end development and/or advancement of core features, including:
  - HauserEQ (our home condition scoring system)
  - Inspection report ingestion and summary UI
  - Smart calendar and notification integrations
  - Dynamic cost estimation and ROI tools
  - API integrations with pricing, utility, and smart home data
• Lead architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, and performance as we grow
• Write clean, maintainable code across backend and frontend (Node.js / Python + React)
• Help shape and scale our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
• Mentor future engineering hires and contribute to a culture of excellence, curiosity, and thoughtful execution
• Participate in weekly planning, technical design, and sprint retros with the broader team

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack applications
• Strategic mindset with the ability to design systems that balance immediate needs with long-term vision
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers
• Proficiency in modern web stacks (React, Node.js or Python, PostgreSQL)
• Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and system architecture
• Experience or curiosity with AI/LLM integrations is a must
• Comfort operating in early-stage environments where priorities shift and ownership is high
• A thoughtful communicator who values clarity, feedback, and continuous learning
• Someone who builds with the user in mind and takes pride in their craft, while elevating the standards of those around them

Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
As a Founding Engineer, we offer flexibility in structuring compensation to align with your goals and the role’s scope. Options include:

• Competitive full cash salary with equity
• A blend of salary and enhanced equity
• Primarily equity-based compensation with reduced cash salary for candidates seeking a significant ownership stake and co-founder-level impact
